Lions

Lions are the second largest members of the cat family.

They are the only cats that live in big family groups called prides. Male lions stay with a pride only as long as they are strong enough to defend their group from other males. Adult lions live up to 12-18 years in the wild whereas, with the care of captivity they can live 20 – 25 years.

There are two types of lions found in the world: the Asiatic lion and the African lion. The African lion is what we have at Safari Adventures.

Their primary habitat is the plains, open savannah and occasionally forest woodland.

Fun fact: A lion's roar can be heard up to 5 miles away, and the lions at the park are quite vocal so listen out for them during your visit.
